BIPOC STUDENT MENTAL HEALTH
Recognizing the unique challenges faced by students of color in predominantly white institutions, Axis is committed to uplifting BIPOC student mental health at independent schools.
UPLIFTING BIPOC WELLBEING AT INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS
We are in the midst of an adolescent mental health crisis that disproportionately affects children of color. Axis recognizes that students of color need ongoing support once they are enrolled at independent schools, and schools themselves must work to become the healthy and inclusive spaces necessary for all students to thrive—regardless of their racial or socioeconomic background.
HEAR FROM OUR STUDENTS
Axis has issued a call to action to our Partner Schools to uplift BIPOC well-being on campus by taking the BIPOC Student Mental Health Pledge. The pledge is a commitment to assess and uplift the well-being of students of color through strategies including:
Focus Groups
Culturally Responsive Curriculum Evaluation
Affinity Groups
Safe Reporting Mechanisms, and more.
