At a time when our youth are facing unprecedented mental health challenges, we must have all hands on deck to ensure that our schools are healthy and inclusive spaces for all students. At Axis, we're committed to doing the critical work of diversity, equity, and inclusion in education.
tHE CHALLENGE
In the heart of California, where 45% of residents are Latinx/Hispanic or Black, only a mere 10% of these communities find representation within independent schools (California Association of Independent Schools). Moreover, the educator workforce is not much different, with only 5-10% being educators of color (Education Week). The discrepancies are glaring.
the IMPLICATION
Without adequate representation and equity, students of color often find it hard to see themselves in their academic communities. Diverse classrooms don't just amplify academic outcomes, they can help children improve self-esteem and shape them into confident individuals ready to advocate and thrive in diverse settings throughout life.
It's not just about equitable access - it's about building a just community where everyone feels a sense of belonging and sees their color, culture, and experiences reflected.

We provide first-of-its-kind Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accountability (DEIA) Accreditation to help our Partner Schools develop more equitable and inclusive practices.
Through our proactive approach, we're nurturing a supportive community among families, Partner Schools, and advocates. Our programs don't just guide families; they assist our Partner Schools in creating an environment where every student of color can truly flourish.
