Yc (yangchen) Lama
YC (Yangchen) Lama is Executive Director of Wealth Management, Senior Portfolio Management Director, Family Wealth Director, Alternative Investment Director, and Investing with Impact Director at Morgan Stanley. She has extensive experience advising high net-worth families and nonprofit organizations on their investment management. She is deeply committed to diversity within independent schools and through her life experience has deep faith in the transformative power of education.
YC came to the United States from Nepal at age 12 as an exchange student and ultimately graduated from Cornell University, where she received a BA in International Relations and a MA in Public Administration with a focus on International Finance. She also earned her Certified Portfolio Manager designation from Columbia University and her Certified Financial Planner designation from the College of Financial Planning.
For the past 20 years, YC has been extensively involved in improving the lives of girls in Nepal through a non-profit organization that provides young girls with educational sponsorship for their primary and secondary educations. She has also served on several higher education board of trustees in the United States to help make colleges and universities more accessible to families from underrepresented socio-economic levels.
